Small business Instagram results - Lorna Scully UK

Email marketing is a powerful, underrated tool for small businesses in the UK to connect with their audience, nurture them and increase their revenue. With an average return on investment of £35.41 for every £1 spent, email marketing has proven to be one of the most effective marketing channels for businesses of all sizes. In this post, we'll explore how small businesses in the UK can set up email marketing campaigns to engage with their customers and grow their business.

Going from…

→ REALLY not enjoying the 'Gram, at all last year

→ feeling like nothing I had to say was good enough

→ posting sporadically

→ comparing myself to others

→ not promoting my services

To…

→ treating my own business like a client, so making time to create content

→ knowing I can help others with my content & services

→ posting consistently (almost daily)

→ Using a scheduling tool so I spend a little less time on the app itself, meaning too busy to compare!

→ having the spark back to promote my services because I know they can have an impact on people's businesses.

The reality of running a small business is…

Most of us forget we're actually human.

And in order to look after the business, we have to look after ourselves.

I was going through a stage of depression (not exactly unheard of nowadays) and felt slightly lost.

BUT, after some R&R, a few investments into mentors & coaches AND a visit or 3 to the doctors, I felt like I had my spark back.

A quick roundup of my Instagram in January 2023

→ I focused mainly on carousel posts. Making them short, simple and binge-worthy. Meaning they became relatively quick to create (once I had created templates).

My 'best' performing posts all based on my stories, my experiences NOT things you can find on Google.

→ I reached 6,383 accounts, 4,924 who were not already followers.

→ 150 new followers, but 71 unfollows, leaving me +79.

→ 988 profile visits, but only 107 website taps which means my bio & profile isn't performing as well as it could/should/I want and need it to.
