Charlotte Tilbury’s leaked ‘internal’ email goes viral… but is it brilliant?

And got praise by others.

If you missed it, big time make-up brand Charlotte Tilbury sent out an email which looked like an internal email, it'd been let out into the wild and it's stirred up some opinions from what I've seen online.

First, we have marketing exec, May Bundy on TikTok who open said she almost 'fell' for it.

And then I spotted this thread from Rebecca.berrington, which I think you'll agree with me the comments are all over the shop. Some are FOR the email, congratulating the team and others like Tonic simply questioning "It’s 2024. We still blaming interns for things?"

It even made the headlines in Newsweek

So before I tell you my thoughts - let me ask you friend... what's your thoughts?

You can see and read the email right here 👇🏻

SO YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT I THINK?

The truth is...
I don't love it and I don't hate it.

So many people across TikTok, and that thread alone are one of 2 sides:

→ it's cringey, they hate it or 'hasn't that been done already?'

→ or they love and are hear for it.

The truth of the matter is - people are talking about it.

Charlotte Tilbury got press off the back of this email. Got hate off the back of this email (predominantly from marketers, it's worth pointing out), and I have no doubts in my mind that they made sales too.

Plus, if you noticed about half way down, there's a "secret" waitlist link which was meant exclusively for their beauty network - how many people do you think clicked that thinking they had snuck past the golden gates?

So they also now have a super warm audience ready and waiting to buy this brand new, top-secret, not-yet-launched product.

So the truth of the matter is, whether you love it or hate it - it worked.

And as business owners, we could all take a leaf out of their book and put our personal feelings and emotions to one side and do what we need to do, icky & cringe aside, for the growth of the business.

What's one thing you can do this week to get your business some insane visibility?
